Judas Iscariot 1891 by Nikolai GeLast night we observed the betrayal of this Holy Week. We met at church for a lovely supper and took communion. We heard the Gospel of Mark: the annointing at Bethany, the disciples falling asleep, Peter denying Jesus, Judas and finally the crown of thorns. We celebrated the service of Tenebrae, or the extinguishing the light. The candles were snuffed out one by one until we sat in darkness. We left in silence. We wait now for Easter morning and the resurrection.
